Women's Squash Defeats No. 11 Brown, 8-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Finishing a challenging week of Ivy League play, the second-ranked University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team defeated No. 11 Brown, 8-1, Sunday afternoon.

Penn remained atop the Ivy League and pushed its Ivy winning streak to five matches. TheRed and Blue arein the midst of their best start since the 2009-10 season.

The Quakers (11-1, 5-0 Ivy) won all eight matches they played on Sunday, with Brown (5-5, 0-4 Ivy) picking up its lone point by default in the seventh position on the ladder.

Every individual Quaker win came by a 3-0 score led by junior Yan Xin Tan in the top position, followed by sophomore Anaka Alankamony, freshmen Melissa Alves and Marie Stephan, sophomore Michelle Wong, junior Camille Lanier, sophomore Grace van Arkel, and senior Collen Fehm.

Penn will return to Philadelphia before playing in its final home match of the season against Ivy rival Cornell on Friday, Feb. 6, beginning at 5 p.m. in Ringe Courts.
