Philadelphia, Pa. -- The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team defeated Williams, 8-1, on Friday evening in the Ringe Squash Courts.
"It was a good night," said Head Coach Jack Wyant. "The team rebounded nicely from the loss to Princeton. They played focused, intelligent squash and tonight was a great example of how far we've come this season."
Five Quakers shutout their opponents. At No. 1, Paula Pearson defeated Ashley Eyre, 3-0. Radhika Ahluwalia also shutout Clare Whipple at the numbertwo position, 3-0. Caitlin Russell defeated Kate Whipple, 3-1, at No. 3, Lauralynn Drury def. Stephanie Barnett, 3-1, at No. 4 and Annie Barrett defeated Andrea Berberian, 3-2 at No. 5. At the number six position, Rohini Gupta defeated Catie Warner, 3-0 and Chloe Wynne defeated Joanna Leathers, 3-0 at No. 7. Elizabeth Kerndefeated to Megan Henze, 3-0 at No. 8. At the number nine position, Caitlin O'Neilfell toKatie Shattuck, 3-0, for the Quakers only loss of the day.
The Quakers are next in action on Feb. 5 when they host Harvard in the Ringe Squash Courts at noon.
