HARTFORD, Conn. - The Penn women's squash team lost its first match of the season Saturday afternoon in Hartford, Conn.With the 5-4 loss to Trinity,the Quakers fell to 9-1, while theBantams improved to8-0.
Penn found its four victories in the middle of the ladder with freshmen Rachael Goh and Yarden Odinak earning 3-1 wins in the fourth and sixth positions, respectively. Junior Annie Madeira won her fifteenth straight game, defeating Trinity's Alicia Rodriguez Acosta 3-0 in the No. 7 spot, and senior Christina Matthias topped Emery Holton 3-2 in the eighth position. Matthias fell 7-11 in the first game, then came back to win the next two 11-6 and 14-12. Holton forced a fifth game which Matthias put away, 11-7, for the win.
The Quakers are back in action Wednesday when they host Ivy foe Princeton for their final home match of the season at5 p.m. at the Ringe Courts.
