PHILADELPHIA – What a week for the third-ranked University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team.
Facing three top-10 Ivy opponents, the Quakers were able to defeat No. 4 Princeton, No. 5 Yale and No. 10 Brown (10-4, 0-4 Ivy), all in the span of five days, after defeating the Bears, 9-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Penn (8-2, 4-1 Ivy) rolled to a 9-0 victory with a little different looking lineup than it used Saturday evening.
After the victory over Yale, Penn hosted its 125th Jubilee Saturday evening, an event that brought over 300 former men’s and women’s players, family and friends to celebrate the tradition and history of Penn squash.
Anaka Alankamony rested Sunday, after a thrilling, match-sealing, five game victory last night, putting Yan Xin Tan in the top spot where she won in three straight games.
Playing in the sixth position on the ladder, senior co-captain Chloe Blacker continued her great run individually this season, remaining undefeated at 7-0.
Ailsa Agnew and Leslie Gill picked up two victories in the eighth and ninth positions. Agnew won 3-0, and Gill won, 3-1.
Penn has two Ivy matches remaining, traveling to Cornell on Friday and finishing the regular season at home versus Columbia on Sunday.
