STAMFORD, CT. -Coming off a second place finish at the Team Championships, the University of Pennsylvania women's squash team sent six players to the CSA Individual Championships. Reeham Salah finished second overall in the tournament, falling in the title match.
Salah fell in four games in the final but the freshman completed the highest finish for Penn in the CSA Individuals since 1996 when Jessica DiMauro won the tournament. Salah won her first three matches in the competition in three games.
Also competing in the top division were Yan Xin Tan, Anaka Alankamony, and Marie Stephan. Tan won her first match in four games before falling to the eventual champion. Alankamony also won her first match, but lost in the quarterfinal to Salah in a Quaker showdown. Stephan who entered the competition with an unblemished record, lost in the first round as the No. 15 seed, but took the match to all five games agains the No. 2 overall player.
Competing in the A Division was Haidi Lala who fell in the Division's final round in five games. Lala's final college match was a thriller, with the fifth game ending 14-12.
Finally, Michelle Wong won a pair of matches in the D Division before falling in the semifinals in five games to the eventual champion. Wong needed just seveb games in her first two matches to secure wins.
