NEW HAVEN, Conn. - In their main tune-up before opening the 2007-08 season, the Penn women's squash team showed that they will be a force in the Ivy League this season with victories over Brown, Harvard and the defending national champion Princeton Tigers last weekend at the Ivy Scrimmage.
The Quakers, who return seven of their top nine from last season, earned a whitewash 9-0 victory over Harvard and took an exciting 5-4 decision over Princeton to cap the weekend.
"This was a good start," head coach Jack Wyant said of his team's performance. "We know that this was just a scrimmage, but it was good to see how we performed."
The team gets underway for real on Saturday when they travel to Cornell at 1 p.m.
