Women's Squash Takes Fifth at Howe Cup with 6-3 Win over No. 6 Stanford

Princeton, N.J. - Women's Squash finished out the team portion of its season on a high note, taking the final team match of the year against No. 6 Stanford in the fifth-place match at the Howe Cup.

Five of the Quakers wins came via the 3-0 shutout. Rachael Goh picked up the sweep in the second position on the ladder. The Quakers also went on to sweep the fifth through eighth slots on the ladder. Highlighting the Quakers wins in this portion of the ladder was Pia Trikha who finished her regular season a perfect 14-0. The Quakers also got victories from Courtney Jones, Stephanie Vogel, and Chloe Blacker at six, seven, and eight.

Annie Madeira picked up a hard fought victory at number three in her final team match of her career. After splitting the first four games, Madeira won the final game in thrilling 11-8 fashion to capture the win.

After making it to this point in the season unbeaten, Yarden Odinak dropped her first match of the season at number four. Her first loss on the season came in heart-breaking fashion, losing in the decisive fifth game.

Nabilla Ariffin also came up just short in her upset bid, dropping the five game match to Stanford's top player.

The women's team will now have the weekend off from competition, while the men take part in the team championships this weekend. Both teams will then be in action two weeks from now for the individual championships.
