HANOVER, N.H. -In its final Ivy League match of the regular season, the Penn women's squash team swept Dartmouth, 9-0, Sunday afternoon in Hanover, N.H. The Quakers improved to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the league, while the Big Green fell to 3-8 on the season and 0-5 in Ivy play.
The Quakers were able to bounce back from yesterday's disappointing 8-1 loss to No. 1 Harvard to take a dominant win to close out the regular season. In the No. 1 position, senior Kristen Lange won a competitive battle with Valeria Wiens, 3-1. Lange lost a close 12-10 first game, but came back to win the next three straight, 11-8, 13-11, 11-6.
Senior Britt Hebden also clinched a 3-1 win, taking the final two games 11-5 and 11-9 after a 1-1 tie. The rest of the Quaker ladder won convincing 3-0 matches over Dartmouth.
The Quakers are back in action Feb. 26-28 when they compete in the annual team championship tournament for women's collegiate squash, the Howe Cup, in New Haven, Conn.
