STANFORD, Calif. – For the second consecutive day, the third-ranked University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team defeated a fellow top-10 team, picking up a 9-0 victory over No. 8 George Washington on Sunday in California.
Penn (5-0) displayed its depth with its second straight victory in as many days. The Quakers defeated No. 7 Stanford on Saturday by the same margin, 9-0.
George Washington (3-4) managed to win just one game against the Quakers, as its No. 1 player Anna Porras fell to sophomore Anaka Alankamony, 3-1. The rest of the Red and Blue's ladder won by 3-0 scores andconsisted of Yan Xin Tan, Melissa Alves, Haidi Lala, Michelle Wong, Camille Lanier, Grace van Arkel, Ali Richmond, and Leslie Gill.
The Penn women’s team returns to Philadelphia and Ivy League action this coming Saturday Jan. 10 versus No. 10 Dartmouth at Ringe Courts.
