Women's Squash Wins Individual Consolation Title

HARTFORD, CONN. – The Penn women’s squash team had three women competing on the final day of the CSA Individual Championships Sunday in Hartford, Conn. Chloe Blacker led the pack, emerging victorious as the Holleran Division Second Round Consolation Champion.

The junior had two matches on Sunday, beginning with a semifinal victory over Sherouk Mohamed Omar of Mount Holyoke in five games. Blacker continued her success by defeating Tara Harrington of Princeton in the finals in straight games.

Also in action in the Holleran Division second round consolation was Stephanie Vogel. The senior tri-captain met Blacker’s finals opponent, Harrington, in the semifinals but fell in a tough, five-game match.

Pia Trikha was the third Quaker in action during the day, as she met Michelle Gemmell of Harvard in the Ramsay Division first round consolation final. The senior tri-captain was unable to conquer the consolation title, falling to Gemmell in three games.

The CSA Individual Championships marked the end of collegiate competition for the Quakers this season. The final College Squash Team and Individual rankings will be released in the coming days and coverage will be available on PennAthletics.com.
