CAMBRIDGE, Mass. The Penn women’s swimming and diving team finished the three-day ECAC Championship meet in eighth place out of a field of 26 teams. The Red and Blue earned 181 points through the meet over 41 points more than the ninth place team, University of New Hampshire.
Sophomore Genevieve Fleming led the Quakers with the most top-ten finishes three. Fleming finished seventh in the 500 free and eighth in the 200 free. She added her final top-ten finish in the 1650 free with an eighth place finish. Teammate Amanda Ackerman edged Fleming to take seventh in the event.
The Quakers excelled in several of the relay events. In the freestyle relays, Penn took 11th in the 200, 10th in the 400 and fourth in the 800, The Quakers was ninth in the 400 medley relay and 11th in the 200. Other top finishes in the meet included Amanda King’s seventh place finish in the 200 fly.
Penn was also in action at the Ivy League Championships this weekend, where the Quakers finished fourth.
