Women's Swimming Goes to Maryland

PHILADELPHIA -The Quakers make the trip down I-95 this weekend to swim at the Terp Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

Penn enters the weekend with victories in three of the team's last five meets and has won each of its last two handily. The Invitational is the last meet of the season before the Ivy League Championships and also marks the final meet for some of the swimmers involved.

"Going into Maryland we're trying to have end of the season swims for a lot of the kids on the team that aren't going to the Ivy championship meet," said Schnur. "On the men's side and the women's side we still have decisions to make as to who is going to swim on our championship squad. The people who swim the best this weekend will grab the last few spots on the Ivy team."

Last year the Quakers swam at the ECAC championships as their final regular season meet. The team finished ninth out of 24 teams in the event as then sophomore Casey Barnes-Waychus finished four in the 1650 and also helped the 800-yard free relay to a 10th place finish.
