Women's Swimming Hits the Road for Ivy Finals

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s swimming and diving team is ready to hit the road for the Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships this weekend. The three-day event will begin on Thursday morning and will run through Saturday night at Brown’s Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence, R.I. Preliminary swims being at 11 a.m. each day, with the finals set for each evening at 6 p.m.

Live results can be found here.

In Ivy League dual meets this season, the Quakers finished sixth among the Ancient Eight -- ahead of Brown and Dartmouth -- with a record of 2-5. Overall, the Red and Blue finished the season at .500 with a 5-5 record.

Penn will look to improve on a sixth-place finish at last year’s championships. Leading the way for the Red and Blue was senior Shelby Fortin and sophomore Lauren Church, as the team broke three school records on the closing night. Fortin and Church will once again play an important role for the Quakers this year, as well as swimmers like senior Kristi Edleson and freshman Rochelle Dong.

The championships are comprised of 22 events over three days, consisting of five relay races, 14 individual swims and three diving events - the 3-meter competition is divided into two nights based on qualifying.

Those interested in attending the Championships will be able to buy tickets at the door. All-session passes are $30, while single-session tickets for adults are $4 (preliminaries) and $6 (finals). Children and students (with valid ID) can get tickets for $1 (preliminaries) and $3 (finals).

The Ivy League Digital Network will have live video coverage of both sessions, each of the three days:

Day One Coverage

Day Two Coverage

Day Three Coverage
