Women's Swimming Remains in Fourth Place Through the Second Day of Championship Competition

Princeton, N.J. - The University of Pennsylvania women's swim team, remained in second place today, after the second day of championship competition. The team has a score of 644.50, which is just a half point behind the third place Yale team.

The Quakers started the day with another third place finish, this time in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team of Stephanie Colson, Megan Carlin, Amy Ottensmeyer and Katie Stores finished the event with a time of 1:44.19. Carlin was also the top Quaker finisher in individual competition today as she finished in third place in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:04.03. Sophomore Cammie Villarreal took fifth place in the 1000-yard freestyle, adding to the Quakers points.

In the 200-yard freestyle, it was senior Katie Stores leading the Quakers as she finished with a time of 1:51.17, a time good enough to take fourth place. The Quakers ended the day with a fourth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay as Villarreal, Jessica Aiello, Michelle Cohen and Margot Newcomer finished with a time of 7:34.34.
