Women's Swimming Seeks Victory Against West Chester

PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers aim for their third victory in five meets when they play host to Division II West Chester on Friday at 6 p.m.

Last weekend Penn went 1-1 in a tri-meet with Dartmouth and Yale, taking down the Big Green, but falling to the Bulldogs. In the meet, the Quakers lone first place finish came in the 400 yard free relay (1:48.54), however Penn did capture seven second place finishes.

Senior Lauren Brandes was a part of the relay and also had second place finishes in the 50 free (24.35) and 100 free (53.12). Fellow classmate Stephanie Nerby also had a pair of seconds, in the 200 (1:53.93) and 500 free (5:03.48).

West Chester has won each of its past two meets, taking care of Johns Hopkins two weeks ago and then beating Southern Connecticut State last weekend. Against the Owls, the Golden Rams won nine events, including three from Kristen Montello. Montello won the 1000 free (10:29.27), 500 free (5:08.07), and the 200 free (1:56.28). Jackie Borowski also swam well in the win, with victories in the 50 free (24.63) and 100 back (1:00.06).
