Women's Swimming Takes On Harvard

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's swimming team seeks to build on its win over Brown earlier this week, when the Quakers host Harvard at Sheerr Pool on Saturday at 10 a.m.

In the Red and Blue's first meet of the new year, the team came away victorious, with a 171-110 win over Bears. The Quakers took first in ten of a possible 16 events, with the senior duo of Lauren Brandes and Andrea Balint, and junior Naomi Delphin, providing some of the best performances.

Brandes was a part of three first place finishes, as she took first in the 50 and 100 yard free, as well as the 400 yard free relay. Balint served as the anchor for the 400 yard free relay and also was the first to touch in the 200 IM. The senior also added a pair of second place finishes in the 100 and 200 yard free.Delphin also had a pair of top finishes, taking first in both the 200 and the 500 yard free.

Harvard is currently 3-0 in the Ancient Eight, with victories over Dartmouth, Cornell and Columbia. Against Columbia, in the Harvard Invitational, Mackencie Luick took a pair to top finishes in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke and was part of the Crimson's first place 200 medley relay team. Kate Mills also swam well, taking the 200 free and the 200 butterfly.
