Women's Tennis Defeats UC-Irvine, 5-2

Irvine, Calif. -The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Anteater Tennnis Stadium.

The Quakers dropped the doubles point to open the match. In singles action, Julia Koulbitskaya fell to Anna Bentzer, 6-0. 6-3, at No. 1. The Quakers then came back to sweep the rest of thesingles. Yulia Riveliswon at No.2. 6-2, 6-4, Shelah Chao won at No. 3, 6-7, 6-1, (10-1) and Michell Mitchell won in the fourth slot, 6-4, 6-2.Raluca Ciochina won in the fifth position, 6-2, 6-4, and Caroline Stanislawski closed out the match with a 6-0, 7-6, victory in theNo. 6 position.

The Quakers continue their West Coast swing on Monday, March 7, when they travel to Long Beach, Calif. to take on Long Beach State at 2 p.m. PST.
