Philadelphia - The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team dominatedBrown on Saturday, winning, 6-1, on the Lott Tennis Courts.
The Quakers (8-5, 2-1 Ivy) opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to take that point. Julia Koulbitskaya and Shelah Chao teamed to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-3, while Raluca Ciochina and Michelle Mitchell on at No. 2, 8-4. Caroline Stanislawski and Kate Williams won in the third position, 8-2.
Yulia Rivelis got things started for Penn in doubles action, defeating Amanda Saiontz, 6-1, 6-2, in the first position. Koulbitskaya won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3, over Alex Arlak. Mitchell dropped the Quakers only point on the day, falling in the No. 3 spot, 6-2, 6-3, to Daisy Aimes. Chao defeated Anita Ivancevic, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 4 and Stanislawski won in the fifth slot, 6-3, 6-4, over Ashley Pariser. In the sixth position, Williams defeated Kelley Kirkpatrick, 6-3, 6-1.
The Quakers are next in action when they travel to Harvard on Friday, April 15. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
