ARLINGTON, Texas -Leading 3-0, the University of Pennsylvania could not find the final point necessary to grab a win from the University of Texas at Arlington and fell, 4-3. Penn took the doubles point and won at the very top and very bottom of the ladder, but took its second straight loss.
Continuing their impressive season as a pair, Kana Daniel and Sonya Latycheva rolled to another win, taking their set 6-2. Their stellar play has vaulted them into the No. 67 spot in the ITA doubles rankings.
Penn's other winning pair was Ria Vaidya and Marta Kowalska. The Quakers other international pair also took a 6-2 result to earn a point.
Daniel's singles record remained unblemished on Tuesday morning, as she dominated once again in the top spot with back-to-back 6-2 set-wins. Daniel is now 6-0 and has not lost a set in any of her victories.
Winning in the sixth position was O.J. Singh. Singh rolled to a two-set win, taking both 6-3. Singh was a late replacement as Lina Qostal was scratched from the lineup after the doubles matches.
Three of the Quakers four individual losses came in three sets.Sonya Latycheva had closest of the matches, narrowly missing in the second set in a 7-5 defeat.
Penn will take Wednesday off before facing the Longhorns of Texas in Austin on Thursday.
