Women's Tennis Falls to Harvard, 7-0

Cambridge, Mass. - The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team fell, 7-0, to Harvard on Friday afternoon.

Harvard opened the match by taking the doubles point. Shelah Chao and Julia Koulbitskaya fell to Celia Durkin and Melissa Anderson of Harvard, 9-8 (5) at No. 1 and Michelle Mitchell and Raluca Ciochina fell to Courtney Bergman and Elsa O'Riain, 8-1, in the second position. Kate Williams and Caroline Stanislawski fell at No. 3, 8-6.

In singles play, Yulia Rivelis fell at No. 1 to Bergman, 6-2, 6-2, for the Quakers (8-5, 2-2 Ivy). Koulbitskaya fell at No. 2, 6-2, 7-6, to Lingman and Chao fell to Alexis Maitre, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the third position. At No. 4, Stanislawski fell to Anderson, 6-4, 6-2, Williams fell to Preethi Mukundan, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 and Sara Schiffman fell to Stephanie Schnitter, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (4) at the sixth position.

The Quakers are next in action on Saturday, April 16 when they travel to Dartmouth for a noon start.
