Women's Tennis Falls to Saint Mary's College, 5-2

TEMPE, Ariz. – In its first match on spring break, the University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team fell to No. 51 Saint Mary’s College, 5-2, Sunday afternoon in Arizona.

Penn played its first outdoor match of the spring season versus the ranked Gaels (6-5), falling for the first time in consecutive matches this spring.

The Quakers (5-3), playing without senior Sol Eskenazi, were led by sophomore Kana Daniel. Playing in the second position, Daniel defeated Saint Mary’s Jana McCord in three sets 6-2, 0-6, 7-5.

Penn took one more singles match, as freshman Lina Qostal won in the fourth position 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 against the Gaels’ Catherine Leduc.
