Women's Tennis Finishes Day Two at Tribe Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – On day two of the 22nd Annual Tribe Invitational at William & Mary, the University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team, saw it most success in doubles play.

The Quakers faced host William & Mary in their first doubles matches with victories by duo Sonya Latycheva and Luba Vazhenina and Alexandra Ion and Lina Qostal. Both pairs won their matches, 8-4.

Penn would face Marshall later in the day doubles, with Sol Eskenazi and Kana Daniel winning their match, 8-3, while junior Latycheva and sophomore Vazhenina winning again, 8-3.

In singles play, Penn faced a mixed matchup of Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia. In three sets, senior Eskenazi defeated Virginia’s Skylar Morton 3-6, 6-0, 12-10 and the freshman Qostal won in three sets after two tie-breaks 6-7 (5), 7-6 (8), 11-9.
