Hanover, N.H. - The Quakers had one singles player and a doubles duo advance in the ITA Northeast Regionals on the campus of Dartmouth over the weekend.
The tournament's second seed, freshman Connie Hsu advanced to the round of 16 with a pair of straight-set victories on Sunday. In the first round she dispatched of Natalie Blosser of Harvard, 6-1, 6-2, and was even more impressive in her next match, shutting out Annie Houghton of Army, 6-0, 6-0. Hsu will take on Blair Seiderman of Yale in the round of 16 on Monday.
In doubles, Hsu teamed up with senior Alexa Ely to reach the quarterfinals. The duo opened with an 8-4 win over Natalie Blossera and Hannah Morrill and followed it up with wins of 8-0 and 8-4 to advance to the quarterfinals on Monday. In the quarters the pair will face Jennifer Holzberg and Amy Zhang of Rutgers.
