Women's Tennis Hosts Dartmouth and No. 46 Harvard

PHILADELPHIA – Playing in its first Ivy League matches at home this spring, the University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team looks to gain ground in the Ivy race against Dartmouth and No. 46 Harvard this upcoming weekend.

The Quakers (7-7, 0-3 Ivy) have been tested and challenged against ranked league opponents in past weeks, falling to then No. 66 Princeton, 5-2, and being edged by No. 52 Yale, 4-3. Penn will face another ranked league opponent this weekend, but is looking forward to the opportunity to make some headway in league play.

The Red and Blue will first see Dartmouth (5-7, 1-1 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon. Penn defeated the Big Green, 5-2, last spring, the Quakers first win in the matchup since 2008.

On Sunday, No. 46 Harvard (9-5, 1-1 Ivy) comes into Philadelphia after having to play Princeton the day before. Penn lost last year’s match versus the Crimson 4-3, after winning the 2012 match by the same score.

Matches both days will begin at 12 p.m. outside at the Hamlin Tennis Center. In the case of inclement weather, the matches will move inside to the Levy Tennis Pavilion.
