Women's Tennis Hosts Harvard and Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA – After 67 days without a home match, the Penn women’s tennis team returns to the Lott Courts for a pair of matches Friday and Saturday with Harvard and Dartmouth. Penn is currently ranked #69 in the latest ITA rankings while the Big Green, Saturday’s opponent, are #72.

Penn is 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the Ivy League. Both Harvard and Dartmouth are 2-0 in league play – but their overall records are vastly different.

The Big Green are14-1 overall, with seven wins by a score of 7-0. Harvard, on the other hand, is winless our-of-conference with a 2-12 overall record. Nine of the Crimson’s 12 losses have come at the hands of ranked teams.

In the last individual rankings that were released on April 1, Ekaterina Kosminskaya came in at #117 in singles. She is 6-6 in singles in the spring, playing all 12 matches at the number one spot.

Kosminskaya is also ranked in doubles. She, along with partner Julia Koulbitskaya, is #24 in the latest ranking. The pair have teamed up nine times in the spring and have won six of those matches.

The women’s tennis team is again providing free pizza to the fans in attendance at the matches this weekend.
