Women's Tennis Hosts Temple on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The Penn women’s tennis team will host cross-town rival Temple Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Levy Tennis Pavilion,for its last match before its spring break trip to California.The Quakers currently post a 1-4 record, which includes last weekend when the Red and Blue picked up a win from George Washington (7-0), but fell to Maryland (2-5).

Senior Lauren Sadaka is on a four-game winning streak, which dates back to the first match of the season when she fell to Joanna Dobrowolsk of nationally ranked Old Dominion in a match that was decided in a tie-breaker.

Temple opened its spring season on Jan. 28 with a 7-0 loss to Princeton and since has picked up four wins and two losses for a 4-3 overall record. The Quakers and the Owls have had two common opponents this season, Old Dominion and Richmond of which both were defeated by 7-0 and 6-1 respectively.

Last season, the Owls served as the Quakers first match and win of the spring season. It went in Penn’s favor, 6-1, as the Quakers picked up the doubles point and won four of the five singles matches.
