Women's Tennis Opens Season at WIlliam & Mary Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The women’s tennis team opens its fall season at the 15th annual William & Mary Invitational this weekend. Penn will compete with 13 other schools including Boston College, Duke, Maryland and Ivy League rival Princeton.

EkaterinaKosminskaya is currently ranked 95th in the country and is included in the top singles bracket. She will face Lana Krasnopolsky of Boston College in her first-round match.

Yulia Revelis, ranked 124th in the country, is the top seed in flight B. She has drawn Ashlee Vosters from Richmond as her first-round opponent. Maria Anisimova will open her play against another Spider, Kelly Tidwell.

Kosminskaya will be pulling double-duty this weekend, as she and doubles partner Julia Koulbitskaya have earned the fourth seed in the top doubles flight. The pair are currently ranked 53rd nationally and will begin play against Duke’s Jessi Robinson and Amanda Granson in their first match.

Following the William & Mary Invitational, Penn returns home to host the Cissie Leary Invitational at the Levy Tennis Pavilion September 21-23.
