Women's Tennis Opens Season with a 6-1 win over Temple

PHILADELPHIA - The 2008 regular season picked up where the '07 one left off for Penn - in the win column. With a 6-1 defeat of Temple on Saturday, the Quakers have now won nine regular season matches in a row and 12 of their last 13.

The Red and Blue swept all three doubles matches to earn the team point. Yulia Rivelis and Maria Anisimova defeated Dina Senkina/Elyse Steiner, 8-3 while the teams of Amanda Avedissian/Julia Koulbitskaya (8-4) and Charlotte Tansill/Michelle Mitchell (8-1) also won their matches.

In singles, Penn won five of six matches to earn the victory.
