Women's Tennis Sends Five to ITA Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team will venture north to Hanover, N.H. this weekend for the ITA Northeast Regional October 22-27.

The Quakers had five individuals selected to compete in the tournament, and will also enter three doubles pairings after final selections were announced.

Sonya Latycheva, Kana Daniel, Ria Vaidya, and Marta Kowalska have each earned entry in the Main Draw of singles. Lina Qostal has earned a spot in the Qualifying Draw of singles, and will attempt to win her way into the Main Draw.

All three doubles teams have earned entry into the Main Draw. Latycheva will partner with Daniel, while Vaidya will pair with Kowalska. OJ Singh will round out Penn’s doubles contingent on a team with Qostal.

Previously this fall, Ria Vaidya won Flight A at Penn’s Cissie Leary Invitational. At that same tournament, Marta Kowalska defeated her teammate, Lina Qostal to win Flight B. In doubles, Singh and Qostal partnered up to win Flight B of doubles.
