PHILADELPHIA - In the first of back-to-back meets in New York, N.Y., the University of Pennsylvania women’s track and field team will participate in the New Balance Armory Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 6-7.

Events begin on Friday at 11.45 a.m. with the 3,000-meter run and conclude at 6.45 p.m. with the finals of the distance medley relay. Saturday’s lineup kicks off with the mile run at 9 a.m., and wraps up with the 1,600-meter relay at 4.56 p.m.

The meet, held annually at the Armory Track and Field Center, is known as one of the largest and most competitive meets in the country during the indoor track season. This year, over 100 schools are scheduled to compete, including six ranked in the Top 25 (No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Florida State, No. 6 Texas, No. 12 South Carolina and No. 17 North Carolina).

Penn’s appearance in the Big Apple comes on the heels of a strong performance at the Penn State National on Jan. 30-31. Junior Anna Aagenes posted another ECAC qualifying mark—this time in the 800-meter dash—while teammate and senior Leah Brogan came within 13 seconds of provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships, eventually finishing fourth in the 5,000 meters.

Complete results from the meet will be available on PennAthletics.com shortly after the conclusion of each day’s events.
