Penn Performance List
Updated Record Book
PHILADELPHIA - Throughout the outdoor season, there were nearly 20 different members of the University of Pennsylvania women's track and field team that posted ECAC qualifying times. This weekend, the majority of those Quakers will head to Princeton, N.J., for the 2011 Outdoor ECAC Championships at Weaver Stadium.
Events start on Friday with the heptathlon in the afternoon and the distance events shortly before sunset. Saturday begins with the 4x100-meter relay at 2:45 p.m., and continues through the 4x400-meter relay at 6 p.m. The final day of competition starts on the track at noon with the 4x100-meter relay and concludes with the 4x400-meter relay at 3 p.m.
Last year at this meet, Kali Strother was a part of two school records - in the 200 meters and 4x100-meter relay - as Penn finished 23rd as a team with 13.5 points. Strother torched her previous career best as she became just the second Quaker in program history to break 24 seconds in the 200 meters. The St. Louis, Mo., native set the school record with her finish of 23.96 in the preliminaries on Saturday. Strother and then-sophomores Renee McDougall, Paige Madison and Leah Brown then set the school record in the 4x100-meter finals on Sunday, just one day after they had improved upon the second-best time in school history - a time they owned. In the finals, the team set the school standard at 46.03.
Last week, there was a lot of movement within the school record books as Penn garnered a fifth-place team finish at the 2011 Outdoor Heptagonal Championshipsat Yale. Eleven Quakers earned second-team All-Ivy honors. Strother earned All-Ivy status in three events, while Madison, Brown and Gabrielle Piper all earned two All-Ivy accolades. In addition, Victoria Strickland and Morgan Wheeler each earned the recognition for the first time in their careers.
