Regional Rankings

PHILADELPHIA – Coming off their first home meet of the season, the University of Pennsylvania women's outdoor track and field team heads to Princeton, N.J., to take on Ivy rivals Yale and Princeton Saturday at the annual P-Y-P meet.

Penn is ranked No. 5 in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Released by the NCAA, the Quakers are behind Penn State, Georgetown, Maryland and Princeton. For a list of the full regional rankings, click on the link atop this release.

The meet starts at 2 p.m. with the hammer. The first event on the track will be the steeplechase at 3 p.m. The last event on the track will be the 4x400 relay at 4:40 p.m. A complete meet schedule is listed below.

Last Saturday, in their first home meet of the season, six Quakers were victorious in their respective events as was the 4x400 relay and the 4x100 relay, which won with the second-best time in school history. In the 4x100, Renee McDougall, Kali Strother, Nony Onyeador and Leah Brown combined for a finish of 46.50. It was just two-hundreths off the school record of 46.30 set in 2005. Senior Jamie Massarelli, freshman Charlotte Pope, senior Amy Donovan and senior Kathryn Gevitz also won their respective events.

In the P-Y-P meet last year in Connecticut, Penn finished just four points behind the first-place Tigers. In all, the Quakers had eight winners in the 19 events and three ECAC qualifying marks.

A complete recap and results from the P-Y-P meet can be found at PennAthletics.com shortly after its conclusion. Penn's only other home meet this year is the Penn Relays, where track superstar Usain Bolt will run.
