Women's Track and Field Tunes Up at Relays

PHILADELPHIA--The women’s track and field team had a good outing at the Penn Relays, Thursday-Saturday at Franklin Field. The weekend was a solid tune-up for the Ivy Heptagonals scheduled for May 4-5 in Princeton, N.J.

Carolyn Auwaerter (1:04.01) and Pari Hashemi (1:15.60) ran the 400m hurdles while Leah Brogan came in at 9:58.81 in the 5000m.

Penn shone in the field events with Camille Richard leaping 12.01m for third in the triple jump while Kathryn Gevitz (11.37m) and Megan Van Buskirk (11.20m) also performed. Shani Boston threw the shot 13.11m and leaped 5.69m in the long jump. Richard also competed in the long jump with a distance of 5.50 that matched Whitney Tagliavini’s mark.

Catrina Chisholm threw the hammer 49.47m and Charli Tabler marked 34.45m.

The relays also competed at a variety of distances and served as a good preview for next weekend’s league meet.
