Day One Recap / Day Two Recap

PHILADELPHIA -On the final day of competition at the 119th Penn Relays, the University of Pennsylvania women's track and field team changed the record book yet again - this time in the 4x800 relay. Earlier in the meet, Penn posted a school record and three top-five all-time marks.

There were 48,871 in attendance at historic Franklin Field on Saturday for a three-day total of 111,284 - eclipsing 110,000 fans for the sixth consecutive year. It is also the 10th straight year and the 13th time in the last 14 years with more than 100,000 spectators at the world's oldest and largest relay carnival.

In front of that large crowd, Ariana Tabatabaie, Gabby Cuccia, Pauline Dabrowski and Chelsea Delaney nearly claimed the Penn Relays title and finished with the fourth-best time in program history in the College 4x800-meter relay. The foursome stopped the clock at 8:50.15 -Penn's fastest timesince 2008 - to place third overall among 25 teams. They were just edged out for the top spot which was claimed by Western Michigan at 8:48.40.

On the first day of competition, freshman Theresa Picciallo set the school record in the shot put (14.47m), senior Morgan Wheeler posted the second-best throw in school history in the javelin (46.26m) and freshman Elyssa Gensib posted the fifth-best time in school history in the 3,000 meters (9:39.28).

On Friday, Gabrielle Piper, Rachel Hlatky, Nony Onyeador and Heather Bong finished fifth in the 4x100-meter relay at 46.18 - which is the third-fastest time in program history and just 15 hundreths of a second off the school record.

After hosting the Penn Relays for the 119th consecutive year, Penn has officially completed the 2013 outdoor regular season. The Quakers will now head to Princeton for the Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, May 4-5.
