Women's Track & Field Wins Three Events

Penn Invitational Results

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women’s track team came out firing on its home turf Saturday, taking first place in the 400, the 1500 and the 4x800 relay.

Shaunee Morgan sprinted her way to one of the Quaker wins, finishing first in the 400 meters with a time of 53.97.

Stacy Kim was also victorious in her race, running4:27.88 for top honors in the 1500 meters. Kinjal Parikh also competed in the 1500 meters, running a 4:36.67 to finish fourth. Anna Aagenes finished eighth in the race with a time of 4:40.66, while Jamie Liberti finished ninth at 4:42.02.

Hannah Cope finished the 100-meter hurdles in 15.23 to finish seventh in the race.

In the relays, Penn’s A team snagged first place in the 4x800 with a time of 9:14.45.

The Penn B team finished third in the 4x800 at 9:46.49.

Penn’s A team ran a collective 3:49.86 to finish second in the 4x400 meter relay.

Kathryn Gevitz had a strong showing in the field events for Penn.

Gevitz finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters, and finished third in the triple jump at 11.66 meters.

Megan VanBuskirk finished just behind Gevitz in the triple jump, with a jump of 11.63 meters.

Gevitz also recorded a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.53 meters.

Whitney Tagliavini finished third in the long jump for Penn at 5.59 meters.

Also in the field, Iman Johnson threw for 12.52 meters to finish fourth in the shot put, while Deanna Morelli threw her javelin 37.10 meters for sixth place.

The women's squad will be in action at home next Saturday also, as theQuakers takeon Princeton and Yale at Franklin Field.
