WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Penn women's track team scored 158.50 points to finish second at the Army Invite Saturday. Connecticut won the event with 195 points, followed by Penn. Host Armywas third with 143.50 points,and Binghamton fourth with 73 points.
The Quakers were led with first-place finishes from Jesse Carlin (1:14.17 in the 500 meter run), Christina Morrison (2:56.59 in the 1,000 meter run), Jamie Liberti (10:22.02 in the 3,000 meter run) andLiza Lozovatskaya (3.35m in the pole vault). Penn also tooktop finishes in the 4x400 meter relay (3:55.60) and 4x800 meter relay (9:41.04)
Other topperformances included Shaunee Morgan's third-place finish in the 400 meter dash in a time of 59.06.
The freshmen also impressed.Kimberley Shooshan won the800 meter run (2:22.75). Laura McDaniels took sixth in the 60 meter dash (7.92)and Carol Xu finished the 5,000 meter run in second with a time of 18:34.37.
The women are back in action Friday, Jan. 26 at the Penn State National Open.
