COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Penn women's track team placed fourth out of 27 scoring teams with 68.5 points at the Maryland Invitational Saturday.
Among the best performers of the day for the Quakers were Dana McCurdy, whoclocked in at 2:12.12 to place first in the 800, andChristina Morrison whonotched a first-place finish in the 1,500 with a time of 4:32.60. The Quakers actually went 1-2 in the 800, as Jesse Carlin ran 2:12.24 to place second just behind McCurdy. Shaunee Morgan ranthe 200 in24.91 seconds to place eighth, while Stacy Kim was second in the 5,000 with a time of 17:20.92.
In field events, Charity Payne placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.26 meters, while in the hammer throw Catrina Chisholm earned third place (49.95 meters)and Erica Denhofffinished 17th (40.02 meters).
The 4x400 relay squad of Carlin, Morgan, Brittany Middlebrooks and McCurdy placed second, clockingin at 3:46.83, while Jessica Ehrlich, Morgan, Middlebrooks and Carlin ran a 47.39 in the 4x100 relay to place fourth.
The Quaker women's track team will compete nextSaturday as host of the Penn Invitational at Franklin Field. Competition will start at approximately 10 a.m.
