Women's Track's Jesse Carlin Captures 500m title at the ECAC Championships

Boston, Mass. – The University of Pennsylvania women’s track team finished 16th at the 2005 ECAC Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. Freshman Jesse Carlin won the 500m and four Quakers took second in the distance medley relay to garner 18 points.

Carlin won the 500m run in a school record time of 1:11.77. She finished just 0.10 seconds in front of her nearest competitor, Shonda Brown of Cornell, who finished ahead of Carlin in the 400m run at the Heptagonals last weekend.

In the distance medley relay the quartet of Stacy Kim, Shaunee Morgan, Tina Morrison, Claire Kim crossed the finish line in second and a time of 11:36.93.

The women’s track team will be back in action on March 26 when they host the annual Quaker Invitational on Franklin Field.
