Women's Tracksters Set New Record on Day Two of Penn Relays

Philadelphia – The University of Pennsylvania women’s 4x100m relay placed sixth in the College Women’s 4x100m ECAC Championships on the second day of competition at the 2005 Penn Relays.

The quartet of freshman Jesse Carlin, freshman Shaunee Morgan, sophomore Krsyta Copeland and senior Izu Emeagwali crossed the finish line in 47.04. Carlin, Morgan, Emeagawali and sophomore Tina Morrison teamed up for the Sprint Medley and Championship of America. The foursome finished eighth overall with a time of 3:55.13 which established a new school record .

In the individual events, Jerrie Kumalah placed 20th in the College Women’s Eastern triple jump with a leap of 11.02m (36’02”).

The Red and Blue will compete in the 4x400m ECAC Championship Relay on the final day of competition.
