Wrestlers Compete at Wilkes Open

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The University of Pennsylvania had five wrestlers compete at the Wilkes Open, which took place Friday in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The Quakers were led by Thomas Shovlin at 197 pounds, who placed second overall in losing to Oklahoma’s Eric Lapotsky in the final. Senior captain Rob Hitschler took third place in the 157-pound division thanks to his second-straight win over Lehigh’s Brian Tanen.

The other wrestlers to compete were Bryan Ortenzio at 133 pounds, and Gabriel Burak and Jake Hunter at 149.
