Wrestling Begins 2014-15 Season

PHILADELPHIA -The Alex Tirapelle Era for the Univeristy of Pennsylvania's wrestling program began in earnest on Wednesday as the first whistle of official practices blew at 7 a.m. in the Larry Lauchle Wrestling Room.

In his first season as the Roger Reina Head Coach of Wrestling at Penn, Tirapelle welcomed 29 grapplers to the training session, including returning NCAA All-American Lorenzo Thomas who leads a group of seven returning wrestlers who have experience competing at the NCAA Championships.

Penn will jump right into the national spotlight on November 1, hosting the 49th Annual NWCA All-Star Classic Presented by the United States Marine Corps and the Wrestlers in Business Network. Tickets for the All-Star Classic are on sale now.

At the end of the month, the Quakers will welcome 13 programs to The Palestra for the Keystone Classic on November 23.
