Wrestling Has Three Named All-Ivy

PHILADELPHIA -- A trio of University of Pennsylvania wrestlers were named second-team All-Ivy for their efforts during the 2015-16 regular season.

Seniors C.J. Cobb, Casey Kent and Lorenzo Thomas were honored by the Ivy League, each adding another All-Ivy honor to their list of career accolades.

Lorenzo Thomas, the No. 11 seed at 184 pounds at the upcoming NCAA Championships, earned his fourth career All-Ivy honor with his second team selection. The 2012 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Thomas was a first-team All-Ivy selection in 2012, before earning second team honors in 2014 and honorable mention status last season. Thomas was 4-1 in Ivy dual meets this season, with a pin and one technical fall. His lone loss in Ivy duals came to No. 1 Gabe Dean of Cornell.

Casey Kent earned his third career second-team All-Ivy selection with a 4-1 record in Ivy duals at 174 pounds. An at-large selection to the 2016 NCAA Championships, Kent had a major decision and a technical fall among his Ivy wins.

C.J. Cobb was 20-4 overall for Penn this season at 149 pounds, including a 3-1 record in Ivy dual meets. A unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection last season, Cobb will graduate with three career All-Ivy honors.

Thomas and Kent will be joined by May Bethea and Caleb Richardson at the 2016 NCAA Championships which begin on March 17 from Madison Square Garden.
