PHILADELPHIA -
With a preseason national ranking of No. 14 already on the record from InterMat in terms of projected NCAA Tournament points, Penn's wrestling team picked up another national plaudit with a preseason ranking of No. 25 in the first NWCA Coaches Poll released for the 2011-12 season.

The Quakers are one of five EIWA teams and just one of two Ivy programs ranked inside the top 25 entering the 2011-12 season. Four of the top 11 schools are on Penn's dual schedule for the upcoming campaign - No. 5 Cornell, No. 6 Lehigh. And the two teams tied for No. 11 American and Maryland. Last season, Penn went 10-7 in dual meets and 4-2 at home inside The Palestra.

Before the Quakers could begin the 2011-12 regular season, they took part in an Intrasquad scrimmage to get used to normal pre-match routines and secure some competitive mat time before the first tournament of the year next weekend in Binghamton. 17 bouts took place, across eight of the ten weightclasses.
