“We are excited to host the Keystone Classic again,” said Penn’s third-year head coach, Zeke Jones. “We have brought in what I think is the strongest field during my short time here, and we are happy to bring in some unfamiliar teams like Arizona State and Tennessee-Chattanooga. As a team, we are excited to compete and get things kicked off Sunday.”
Penn is looking to regain the team title that it won in 2005; last year, the Quakers took second overall to Columbia. Two other teams who figure to be in the hunt Sunday are the other two to hold a national ranking: UT-Chattanooga and the Quakers’ fellow EIWA member, American. The Mocs enter the weekend ranked 13th nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), while American is ranked just behind the Quakers at 25th.
The other schools involved include Appalachian State, Arizona State, Boston University, Brown, Mercyhurst, Rider, and Virginia Military Institute.
