PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In the final Ivy tri-meet of the season, the University of Pennsylvania women’s swimming and diving team split with Harvard and Dartmouth Saturday afternoon in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Quakers split the tri-meet, their second in-a-row after falling short to Yale but defeating Dartmouth last week, coming up 17 points short against the Crimson, 141-158, and beating the Bears, 175-124. The Red and Blue claimed two event wins and added nine second-place finishes, out of the 16 events.
The first Quaker to win an event, sophomore Ellie Grimes led Penn to a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 breast with her time of 2:20.36. Behind her was freshman Sydney Tan, who clocked in at 2:21.65, and sophomore Lia Lombardi followed at 2:26.18. Tan and Grimes also added a 2-3 finish in the 100 breast, with Tan finishing at 1:06.17 and Grimes at 1:06.34.

There were a total of seven events where at least two Quakers finished back-to-back within the top five times; the three events mentioned as well as the 1000 free, 100 back, 200 back, and 500 free.
While freshmen Carolyn Yang (10:17.07) and Kristen Moss (10:17.99) went 3-4 in the 1000 free, the pair finished the 500 free in the same order at 5:04.47 and 5:04.97. In addition, freshmen Virginia Burns places second with her time of 5:01.53 and junior Meaghan Kwarcinski took fifth in 5:06.91.
