PHILADELPHIA - University of Pennsylvania women's squash Head Coach Jack Wyant has been named coach of the United States Junior Women's Squash team, U.S. Squash has announced. Wyant, who will coach the squad in addition to his duties at Penn,will lead the team at next year's world championships in Hong Kong.
"Anytime you get to coach a national team, it's a tremendous honor," Wyant said. "I'm really excited about working with the top U.S. juniors and the international attention it will garner for Penn squash."
No stranger to international competition, Wyant competed as a playerat the World Juniors in 1990 in Germany and 1992 in Hong Kong, as well as the 1997 and 1998 Pan-American Games.
Wyantenters his third season as head women's coach at Pennafter leading the Quakers to a successful 2005-06 campaign. Penn finished the yearranked fifth in the nation with a 10-5 record.
