PHILADELPHIA- The Ivy League has announced its weekly honors for men's basketball, and Penn freshman guard Zack Rosen is the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. This is Rosen's first weekly honor of 2008-09.
Playing his first full Ivy League weekend, Rosen had a stellar performance in the Quakers' 66-60 win at Harvard Friday night, scoring 15 points and dishing out a career-best nine assists. He figured in 10 of Penn's 12 points down the stretch as the Red and Blue pulled away from the Crimson for the Ivy-opening victory. He followed that up with seven more assists Saturday at Dartmouth, in addition to five points and five rebounds, as the Quakers lost to the Big Green, 63-60.
Penn is home twice this weekend, hosting Columbia Friday night at 7 p.m. and Cornell Saturday at 7 p.m.
