Zeke Jones to Coach U.S. National Team at Pan American Championships

Philadelphia - University of Pennsylvania head wrestling coach Zeke Jones will coach the U.S. National Freestyle team at the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janiero, Brazil this spring as announced by USA Wrestling last month.

Jones is no stranger to coaching at the international level. His credentials include a position on the United States Wrestling Team coaching staff, where he prepared the nation’s elite wrestlers for World and Olympic competition. He served as the 2004 U.S. Olympic freestyle head coach in Athens, leading the Americans to one gold and two silver medals.He was also a member of the1996 and 2000 Olympic coaching staffs.

In 2003, he was the head coach for the U.S. at the Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where the team brought home the title along with four golds, a silver and two bronzes for the trophy case.

TheU.S. National team will compete at the Pan American Games May 31-June 4.
